So I was at the Forward on Climate Rally in DC today. I don’t have adequate words to describe this, but I’ll try anyway. My friend Sarah and I went with the Socialist Alternative group we meet with in Philly. We met a lot of amazing people who felt the same way we did about many issues, which was refreshing. Estimates for the turnout were as high as 50,000. It really moved me to see this many people truly care about a cause. I was also personally touched by the First Nations Canadians who told us firsthand of the kind of hell something like the Keystone Pipeline could create. They said, “Idle No More.” I hope that’s true. I hope today showed a lot of people how important our planet is. It’s about time we woke up. I am infinitely grateful and proud that I got to be a part of this.
